Biographical note

Dr. Anna Bara holds a PhD in History and Civilization from the European University Institute (2011) and a MA degree in Central European History from the Central European University in Budapest (2003).
While completing her PhD, Dr. Bara was employed as a stagier at the General Secretariat of the European Commission in Brussels, and was an on-campus research affiliate at the Center for Russia, East Europe and Central Asia at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Bara also worked as a researcher in the Archives of the European Union (Florence) and the Archives of the United Nations (Rome) on behalf of the European Science Foundation EUROCORES Programme for the Making Europe publication series.
Prior to joining the Migration Policy Center, Dr. Bara was a researcher for a Joint Project of the University of Cambridge and
University of Pompeu Fabra “A Comparative Study on the Attitudes and Practices of International Immigrants in Western Europe.”
At the RSCAS, Dr. Bara coordinates the activities of the socio-political module, CARIM-East Project.
